So there I was getting up at 5 am to take my son fishing over at the South Winter Haven chain.........and it was pouring rain.  Getting my 9 year old out of bed at that hour to fish is tough, but possible.  Getting him up at that hour to fish in the rain?  Forget it.  I switched off the alaram and went back to sleep.

Later in the morning, feeling kind of ripped off by mother nature, I decided to get my boat cleaned up and organized since I couldn't go fishing.  After my last tournament I started looking for ways to organize bags of soft plastics instead of just leaving them lying around everywhere, or having to dig through the plastic bins I store them in every time I want to put on a new bait.  There are a couple of different types of organizers advertised out there (for $40 or more), but all I really wanted was a way to hang 4 or 5 bags of "go to" baits, and another 4 or 5 different types depending on conditions that day.

I looked around the garage and workbench for a few minutes and came up with a pretty easy solution.  If you have a few cable anchors, some old shower curtain hangers, and small sheet metal screws, you're in.  I chose the middle compartment to use since there are usually rods laying on the lids of the longer rod lockers while fishing.  This way I don't even have to move anything, just pop open the lid and there are my baits.  You simply drill a small pilot hole in the metal support underneath the lid where you want to mount the hanger, then drive the screw in to attach the cable anchor.  Hang the shower curtain hanger on the cable anchor, then attach the bag using the small hole on the top.  Too easy......and cheap!
