The wife and I will be in Guntersville for the week of Sept 15th to pick my new-to-me boat. I know it's hot, but how's the fishing? Need a buddy to show me the ropes and ins and outs down there. Like who's a good boat electrical/mechanical man.
Need a couple of new toys installed.

Man i wish i could hit the Big G right now. I bet the topwater bite is just starting to heat up with the water temp dropping a bit. My parents will be making a trip down there in October. I hope i can swing down there with them...at least for a long weekend. That trip always turns into a topwater fest. Last October that's all we threw! It was mind blowing.

Bought a new Eagle Fish Elite 640C and transducer
Eagle Evr150 Vhf Radio and Antenea
Need both installed. It can wait till I get home, but thought it would be better for me on strange water.

OK, Just returned home from Guntersville. Meanwhile, here in Ohio, we had no electricity for 6 days. So I picked a perfect time to go away.
Met some great people and had some great unexpected service. The guys at Guntersville Boat Mart are great. Patrick Brown (sales) was very helpful and made many extra efforts to satisfy me on my boat purchase. The Service dept. was very friendly and Jerry in the service dept. did an excellent job on my trailer wiring. 
We stayed in a Floating Condo and that was very enjoyable and relaxing. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Guntersville to do the same.
Food, I recommend Mama's,The Glover, Wintzell's Oyster House and Outlaw Steakhouse. All are fair priced and have great food.
Fishing ?? .... well, OK, there are fish in the lake.. perhaps they knew I was a rookie yankee.
I'm just going to have to come back down there soon and show'em who's on top of the food chain.
