You folks better stock up on the wheel weights.  California has banned them and wants them gone from tires by 2009

Well it will probably affect us all sooner or later, especially with fishing.  I am surprised they haven't gone after lead fishing weights yet.  It may take another 50 years for the US to do anything as a whole though.  Our government is a joke when it comes to protecting us from chemicals of any sort.  The FDA is a joke.  If there is money to be made and enough lobbyist to spread the money around DC, screw the people lets make more money.

A lot of stuff the Californians do I don't care for especially the extreme liberal agendas they push.  On the other hand when it comes to cleaning up the environment and protecting peoples health and being responsible with our resouces.  I will give credit where its do.  They push a lot of things that will eventually help our country.   On a side note if you want to get really ticked just watch.  Who killed the Electric car. In Vermont they have gone after lead, anything under 1/2 ounce sinker has to be non-lead,  jigs can be lead but they ask that small ones not be used.  NH is even worse and so is Mass and Maine.
