Who would be the best person to talk to about obtaining a sponsorship from a company? Some companies are small and you can actually talk to the owner but what about the other ones, where would you begin going in the right direction? This question applies not just to fishing companies but also companies in the industry that could benefit from fine fishermen and women. Thanks for any replies guys I know I am the rookie on here :surrender:

Most fishing related companies have someone in their organization titles as "Head of Pro Staff" - a simple call to the company is all that is required to find out who that is and what their contact information is.

As far as other non-fishing companies - I'd concentrate on establishing contact with those responsible for advertising and public relations.  You may have more success initially working with local businesses in your community.  Many have advertising dollars already set aside in their yearly budgets for things like sponsorships.  Local businesses would also be easier regards establishing and growing the relationships necessary in getting sponsorships off the ground.  If you have not read Scott Rauber's guide on getting sponsored - worth the read.  It is titled "Fish for Free".
