any tips for trap pond?

I will be headed to trap pond this weekend for some camping and fishing. I will have my kayak with me and plan to use it to do my fishing. Any tips on what to use or areas to try? I have fished here a few times but havent had much luck. thanks in advance for any advice

Guess nobody fishes there . it wasnt very good. The water was nasty and murky. Most areas were very shallow. I managed a few small ones but that was it.
