I recently put a 1990 25hp Johnson on my boat and need advice on a problem I'm having with it. The motor will run fine for a minute or so then it will almost die then rev up again. It does this repeatedly until it finally die completely. The only way to keep it running is if my buddy pumps the primer bulb while we're moving. I changed the primer bulb and that didn't seem to help. Any suggestions?

sounds like it could be a bad fuel pump.

yep, sounds like a fuel delivery problem.  Before getting a new pump, clean the carb, needle could be sticking.  Also make sure you don't have any leaks.  Pull the cover off, pump the primer bulb tight and hold it.  While holding pressure on it look at all the lines/fittings and see if you leaks.  If the leak gas, they can suck air.  If you have a filter, replace it and screw the that little cover off the pump and make sure the screen is clean.  If that doesn't cure it, see if you can get a kit for your pump.

Thanks guys, I'll try your suggestions.
