I just bought a new boat last week and it has a 520 C on the console. On the first day of break in I had two pin hole leaks in my speedo cable and all my wires in my dash got wet and I blew a fuse on my 520C.

I got home and fixed the speedo cable, and changed the fuse. Everything worked great.

The second day of break in , I turned the 520 C on and headed down the river. After about 5 - 10 minutes the unit shuts off again. Thinking that the wiring is still wet and I blew a fuse again, I waited until I got home to check it because I had no more spare fuses in the boat. I check the fuse once home and it didn't blow.

So now the unit will not come on and I do not see any blown fuses. I disconnected the wires from the battery for 5 to 10 minutes because on my other boat when stuff like this would happen if I would disconnect all the wires if would reset certain things. Obviously this unit is not one of those things.

I am scheduled to bring it back to the dealer on Friday to get the 10 hr service and to also get this looked at but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions besides a bad connection with the power wires from the graph.

Thanks,
Skeet

I have the 522i and the same thing happened to it. It had rained real hard and had ran down the lake using the Gps and stopped and switched to depthfinder and few minutes later my partner ask how deep is the water. I said look on the screen and he says you turned it off. I said no and he tryed but wouldn't do nothing. Hooked up on buddys boat and same thing nothing. Took back to BPS and got another one and used it twice doing ok so far. Purchased the extended protection plan for two more years of warranty.
