I saw in the latest b.a.s.s. mag that there is a new drop shot rig. I've been using a similar rig for years. Guess I should have tried to sell it. Too late now. So save you're money. Take a small paper clip and straighten, then fold in half. Insert clip through small egg sinker and bend the two ends out ,about 1/2 to 3/4 in. making two legs like a T. Cut a thin rubber band and tie one end to drop line and pinch or tie other end in bent section of paper clip. When you SLOWLY drag this rig , the legs will grab at everything they touch, causing the rubber band to flex. This will make your drop bait shake and dance like an injured baitfish on steroids.
Good luck

So just how do you cast this?

I know our sponsors product works well and there isn't a casting issue!

I just exchanged an e-mail with rod on this. Strange situation with mojo selling one. Rod has a patent on his, and i just did these on my own for me. I first tried the clip for legs to grab because i wanted the bait to have a lift and drop motion instead of just pulling it. That works somewhat but when i tried the rubber bands the action intensified. I don't fling them. I make a soft pitch past structure and pull it past. Is the one Rod sells better? Probably is. Sounds like you can use it in more areas and the elastic material is much stronger. If I had known about the controversy before I posted this tip I would have kept this one to myself. His are inexpensive so decide for yourself. I make lots of things for myself and modifications to existing baits for special situations. Always the possibility that there is already the same or better version that I didn't know about. But then I'm not selling anything.
