$198.79  hummingbird 565

$251.78 hummingbird 575

I'm needing one for the boat (keep in mind this will be my 1st ever electronic stuff.

I have the 575 on the front of my boat and an Eagle 480 fishelite on the back. I put the Eagle on the dash since it has the GPS, but I have to say I perfer the Eagle products over the Hummingbird. It is a lot easier to find accessories for the Eagle and the units just work better. Biggest problem with the 575 is water under the screen, and fogging up, even though the boat stays indoors. I like the controls on the Eagle better also.

It being my 1st ever electronic is the eagle productions user friendly.I figured less buttons (less headaches). Thanks for replying also.

The 'bird 575 would be my choice between the two, but the Lowrance 96(or close) would be my choice above the 'bird 575.

The Humminbird has as many options as the eagle but you have to push the buttons different ways and are not as clearly labled as eagle or Lowrance. I like to hit one button for one thing instead of hit and hold for this and that. I can't figure out how to keep the light on, on the bird half the time.

Just my oppion but I think the Eagle/Lowrance are just simpler and more dependable. I've also used their service dept and have been very impressed with the quick dependable service.

I downloaded the FishMark 320 Fishfinder emanulator *spelling* & played with it.The waters I fish is only 10-15' so the 1500 watts is all i'm needing. Is this a good unit i'm kinda leaning toward it as my 1st ever unit.

Opinions please before I go get it.
