Fished Cross from about 11 am to 6pm today. Went west and started nailing trees through 40/8 and Johnson's camp. Water was extremley muddy and didn't produce a single bite. Wind picked up around 3 and I headed North. Hit one of my favorite secluded pockets and started picking up a few unders. Fished around the same area till the front rolled in and ended up with a slot, 4 unders, and a dink. Tough day all around. I think the front stirred them up a bit towards the end. All bites came on Senko's. My tip for the day, if the water is muddy, go somewhere else! lo

Man I really thought that if we'd gotten out there earlier today than we did they would have been biting pretty good (launched at 4), but it doesn't sound like it would have made much difference.  No movement on the water for us at all either....water was heavily stained but not as muddy as on the west end.  Our two fish came off a trap (slot and dink).

Jimi, I was in the muddy section for the earlier hours. The fish could have very well been on elsewhere, but I was stubborn and thought I could rangle one out. I should have known better after our last fruitjar. I fished a trap a pretty good bit, but started to notice that I would have to finesse them out after the first couple of hours. I was going to head east, but once I started getting a few bites, I hung out till the end. Forgot to mention water temp was around 63* and the wind was gusting pretty good. Fish were caught in about 3' of water and there weren't on the trees, at least for me. ;)

Yep - the two fish I caught were way off the trees for me, too.  Should have moved to deeper water earlier than I did but stubborn here, too.  Man it got cold quick!

well muddy water aint a bad thing on sunny days though! bass are predators and dont like bein exposed. muddy waters on sunny clear days can be your friend. keeps minimal sunlight through the water and is easier for them to ambush prey especially larger bass. something with good vibrations and noise are great in those conditions. might be very pleased with the results. i pulled 2 7 pounders out last week in the muddy waters on the west end of the lake outside flemming park. using a white spinner bait
