Fished today from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Water temps ranged from 55 to 60.  Tried spinnerbaits, ugly otters, rattletrap, and senko's...only put 2 fish in the boat (both unders)...one on a crawfish rattletrap and one on a watermelon senko.  Had only 2 other bites.  Very slow day for me.  Lots and lots and lots of boats on the water.

Even saw IDIOTS water skiing behind a jet ski.

We fished from daylight to 1330 and it started off very quickly with 3 fish in the boat in the first 20 minutes. Then it slowed way down, we managed just 3 more fish the rest of the day. All fish came on beavers on the trees in 3-4 ft of water.

After babysitting for 3 days I finally got on the water at 3:00 this afternoon and they were waiting on me. ;D Caught 9 All unders off of trees on west end. I kept seeing fish move off of trees and swirling around trees, I was throwing a beaver and only had 1 bite in almost an hour, switched to my little redneck swimbait . ( Chart. white )  Would pitch it well past tree to keep from spooking them then just swim it up to the tree and let it fall with a 1/8th oz. jig head and they would jump on it, saw most fish swirl when they hit the bait. Caught one more right at dark on a gold Rogue. Water was mostly around 2-3 feet. Three of them I missed on the first bite and threw back and caught them on second cast, that was fun.

Hit Cross with Dad from 1:30-4:30 today.  Bite was definitely slower and more scattered than it has been on last few trips....might have had something to do with there being a 100 other fisherman on the water today.  One guy we passed said it sounded to him like a Nascar race on the lake with all the motors.

Fished traps starting out with 3-4 unders and 1 slot then switched to plastics in trees which we caught our 2 overs on the north side of lake in 4-6 of water.  Dad had me beat today.  Beautiful weather but crowded on the water.

Nick I fish them all, first I try to find the active depth and then pattern from there. If the trees are in the middle then so be it, if they are up in a cover well I'll fish there as well  :-*

Fished Cross Sunday as well, went with Billy(stratos68), we started around noon and hit the west end groves of trees.  I started out with the brush hog in watermelon candy since that was working so well Saturday.  Pitched it for most of the day switching up with a red craw rattletrap in the open areas.  I missed one fish on the bhog and that was my only bite for the day.  Billy hooked a decent one on a beaver I think but it got off, then he hooked a huge black colored toothy one, luckily it got off before we had to get the pliers.  Later in the day we headed to the east end and tried some shallow crankbaits and rattletraps, no luck there, Billy did end up picking off a good sized hybrid off of a dock with a crankbait.  It was a typical Cross day for me, now I need to start picking apart what was so different on sunday from Saturday?  water color, depth, temp, wind were still the same, could've been the heavier pressure I guess, but just don't know where the fish that were there Saturday dissappeared to on sunday.

No just scattered trees in the woods, most were on the southwest corner of the lake.

I took the wife and kids to Cross Sunday afternoon from about 1400-1730.  Only managed two hits on a large spinnerbait, which is what I threw most of the trip.  My daughter had a crawfish colored rattle trap with no hits and my son had a white spinnerbait without any luck.  We fished the trees on the SW side of the lake.  Lots of white perch fishermen up in the woods and I talked to one guy at the launch that said he tore up the stripers.
