1. I use mechanic gloves in black.  The black helps absorb any sun light and the gloves fit great letting you still have reel control and the dexterity to cast, flip or pitch.

2. If you spray them down with water proofing spray it will help keep your hands dry from the wet bait or lipping fish as well.  ;)

3. Use those hot hand warmers but don't try and fit them in the glove, they will ball up and get in the way.  What you need to do is stuff them just under the wrist cuff of the mechanic gloves so the heat is on the veins in your wrist.  This will help heat up the blood flow to your finger tips.

4.  Get some toasty toes adhesive packs and stick them to the bottom of your reels.  Holding that cold metal reel all day saps the heat from your hands and just makes it harder to stay warm.  If you keep your reels in the house the night before to warm up the reels and then once on the lake stick the toasty toe heater packs to the bottom of your reels and the rod.

These work for me.   ;)

Those are some great tips Fogy! I wish I would have had those when I fished in the snow at Truman last April  ~b~

Thanks joe c & sctamadrummer the below help me out most times down here, but there are still days that it is still just cold!   lo

You know I was telling my Mom last year that I had ice forming up on my rod and line while fishing a tournament and she told me " well that's just crazy - you can buy fish"   :shocking:       lo lo lo

The Hot Handz heat packs fit well under the terrycloth wrist bands also.

Here's another trick that worked for me. Buy some neoprene gloves and take a small pair of sissors and cut out just the pads on the finger tips. This gives you all of your feel at the finger tips but leaves a covering on the sides and top  of your fingers.

I like to use the thinner neoprene gloves for this, another words the cheapies.

I sure could've used those "toasty" things today.  It really wasn't that cold out, but with the breeze and the drizzling rain and no rain suit...it DID get cold!!!

I was only out for about 2-2 1/2 hours but when I got home I was almost soaked to the bone!!  A 20 minute hot shower done the trick!!

i have some  neoprene gloves that have shark skin grips from streans i bought them at dulath trading co. no need for heat packs and what not they will keep your hands warm in 0 degree weather plus they have great sensitivity in the glove to feel light bites etc......
they are so supple i dont even have to take them off to tie a carolina rig or a texas rig or even tie knots. they are just some sweet all around gloves
