At the request of my fish'n buddies I am carving some LARGE Cranks. This one is a Gizzard Shad, and if I could figure out how to place a photo in this post I would. Just for some openions. It's 7 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches tall, carved from Bass wood.
How do you ballance these bait's and weight them ect.....

Hey, this is a fishing forum ~b~

Jigman, weighting is going to depend on what you want this to do and the style of lip you are going to use. On most of my cranks I usually try to put the weight just slightly forward of center. Are these baits to be deep divers, shallow runners or wake baits and are you looking for a wide wobble or tight wiggle? Pm me if there is anything I can help you with or if you need any heavy Lexan for lips, I have some left that you are welcome to have.

Whittler,
Thanks for the input I have lexan bills ( square) ordered and am looking for 4 to 6 feet divers.
I still haven't figured how to get photos on the post yet ~xyz
