OK here is the deal.  I have a Lowrance X-135 finder at the console and want to upgrade to a Sonar/GPS unit like the Lowrance LMS-522C.  Is this basically a switch job since they are both the same brand...meaning the current transducer will work with the 522C?

According to the lowrance website, it looks as though you can use the same transducer, and the power cable is different. It gives a different model number for both. So it looks as though you can leave the 'ducer but have to switch out the power cable. Where is your X135 mounted at, in the dash, out in the open? Reason cause the 522c has the internal antenna and needs a clear view of the sky. So mounting it flush in the console will prohibit that and you will not get great reception and have problems with it linking up to the satelites. And as always, consult a dealer or lowrance just to make sure the information is correct.

The X-135 is mounted by the console on a bracket.  FYI, I have a 2007 Skeeter ZX 190 so all the cables are new.  The 135 looks like it has the same connections as the 522C, but I will have to compare them closer.

KDub, here is the lowrance site that you can look at for the parts. http://www.lei-extras.com/store/productfamilies.asp?Family=Lowrance When you go to it, just pick the unit you would like to view and it will bring up the accessories for that unit and will list the model numbers. That's where i got the information from in my previous post. Even if you need to change the power wire it's not a big deal. Very simple.

Couldnt resist going to Bass Pro Shop yesterday and bugging them about it.  Their answers were sufficient enough for me to go ahead and buy.  Hooked it up after I got home and all is working fine.  Just have to take the boat out on the water today and test it out.  At least that is what I told my wife....have to ensure it is working before I take it to the tournament practice next weekend  hehe ~roflmao

K-Dub, don't know if you played with your new toy, but if you cant make it to the lake download the emulator from lowrance and you can learn and play with it at your computer. Here is the link. http://www.lowrance.com/Downloads/Emulators/default.asp
