speedo question >>>>

My speedo stopped working, To be honest i don't care about it that much since i use my GPS but like everything in the boat to work properly.
What do i need to check, I can see the line from the back of the speedo but can't figure where is it going to.
I don't have the PITOT KIT on the transom so where does it picks up the water from.

there's a pin hole on the lower unit in the front of the unit towards the bow.  It always fills up with crap.  Mine has never worked.  Some people use a small drill bit to clean it out by hand.....NOT WITH A DRILL!

Yep, mine stops up too. Keep forgetting to clean it out.

don't even waste your time cleaning it out...it will just clog up again next time out..plus you won't have to worry about it when it freezes. One less thing to drain out

I already opened it, tomorrow i will check it out, i can care less if its working or not, am using the gps anyway.
It was funny, i tried the drill bit  by hand but it was so clogged up i had to tap it with the hammer and then it finally got in, then took a long metal wire and got it in till water came out, then blow the black water tube and air came out so i know its clean and will prob clog again tomorrow.
