The last few mornings as well as a few instances since I have had it, the thing comes on by itself...every morning this week, I go out side & hear the thing beeping non stop that it lost gps signal.

What is causing it to come on? Is this a problem with the unit or do I have another problem?

BassBUFF

It's a known problem with the unit. Call Lowrance and they will fix it. ;)

Thanks Steve! I will call them tomorrow

Yep...for $199 plus $7 shipping  :-\ :o, they said they would repair it or replace it. I asked about upgrading it to the 520C for a discounted price & they would not do it. They said they still produce a few of the 332C's for replacements in situations like this.

I think I may just wire it up through a switch & keep the switch off when not using it or when the boat is stored...I definately don't have 200 dollars for them to "fix" it.  :'(

Isn't yours still under warranty??

Sending you a pm.

bassadict69

nope...not uner warranty. It is a little over two years old.

Got your PM & will try that...Thanks Steve!

I sort of had a sour taste in my mouth from my last conversation with Lowrance c/s & decided to call them back again to plead my case (thanks again Steve!)

After talking with them the 2nd time, I paid them $7 for shipping & they shipped me a new (or at least looks new) 332C, I recieved it today!  ~c~ They told me to wait until I rec'd the new one then ship the old one back in the box the new one came in.

Now THAT is the Lowrance customer service I have always heard about!

Good to hear.  After I read your post my 332 has started doing the same thing the last week or so.  I thought I might have forgetten to shut it off but now after it has done it 2 days in a row I know its the unit.  Only good thing is a have a main battery shut off for all 4 of my batteries.  I'll be giving Lowrance a call next week to see how they handle my case.

Tritonrob---Give Linda Colt a call/email, she will always do all she can to make you happy.  Recently had a x125 that quit.  Sent her an email and she had me a new unit in the mail that day.

i had the same problem, but when I called Lowrance, they sent me a new unit.  They said that earlier models had a problem with the water tight seal (ie it wasn't).  They took about 5 weeks, but took good care of me.

Hope you have the same luck.

Not much bad happens when you're fishing.
