Hi guys, I'm new to the board here and figured I'd start out with the question that got me here. I read about the site on Allcoast while I was searching for information about my Ranger.

So to the point. I have this 89 ranger that I'm trying to find replacement pedestal seats for. I can't seem to find the same style of post that the existing base uses. If anyone has any resources or suggestions I'd really appreciate it. The base is flush to the deck, about 1 1/4", with a small threaded rod at the bottom about 3/4". I can't seem to find it anywhere and I really want to get these seats soon. The seat threads into the base and the pedestal slides into a sleeve in the base.

Thanks for any help you can be.

On an older boat that I use to have was something like you are talking about. But the pedestal stopped at the base. it only screwed in. I sold that boat to a buddy of mine. I will try and get a hold of him and see if I can get a name. Did you look at walmart?

No I haven't. I have checked, West Marine, Boaters World, Bass Pro Shops, and Cabelas. There are several that look like they "may" work, or that I "could make" work, but I'm looking for the same make.

I unfortunately couldn't find a name on the base (while doing the recarpet, I know...you ask why didn't I change them then!!!)

I'd appreciate any help you could offer. I remember my seats had a sticker on the post that had a name on them. Even that would be sufficient.

Call Ranger, (870)453-2222. Give them the serial number on your hull and they will point you in the right direction if they don't have the part.

Thank god for good directions....and turnip greens.

So I took some good advice from Buzzman and called ranger this morning. They don't have the exact model of post for the pedestal seat I want. They advise using another 1.77 spring lock post.

I also got several other questions answered and am quite happy with the service I received from Dan over at Ranger parts.

Thanks for your help guys.
