What would you like for your Cat?

Hi Guys,

I know FastCats are great boats as they come from the factory, but I have access to the management at FastCat Marine. This enables me to suggest modifications, add-on and changes to the FastCat line.

I've been extremely happy with my boat, but there are always bright people out there with good ideas.

So tell me, what features are important to you? Do you have any ideas?

How about this? What features do you like about your boat? When I had my Cobra Coosa 216, I loved the passenger rod rack that allow all the rods to be stowed away under the rear deck.

I think they should incorporate a telescopic ladder like the new Triton's have.

I like that idea too but doesn't Triton have that under a patent? I know the other manufacturers should come up with something similar but they might be worried about a lawsuit. This is one idea that shouldn't fall into that category.

I know this is off topic but it does relate to the last post. For those that don't have a ladder on their boat the best thing is your outboard. Get to the motor, step onto the cavitation plate, pull yourself up and lay the upper half of your body on the top of the motor keeping your feet on the cavitation plate. Then either have your partner trim the motor up or reach down and trim it up yourself. The motor will lift and flip you into the boat.

Hey Rattle..... Try that idea with all your winter garb on and see if you can do it....I'm not over wieght and consider myself somewhat fit but I tried your idea in the summertime, fully dressed, wearing my thermal suit, and I could not do it and I had a friend onboard to assist me too! Not as easy in the winter....

Oh and as for standard features on Fastcats... There only one recommendation.....

I'm very impressed with the rest of the features on Fastcats.

Oh yeah, KeelShields are most definitely so important that they should be standard on all boats! That was one thing I insisted be on my boat. The only bad thing is with a cat hull, you need two of them!

Its funny you posted this at this time. I just flew in today from a visit to the Fastcat plant on Thursday checking on my boat. After a visit with Jerry and Jason looking at the new and improved production plant. I was informed of a whole new process for building the Fastcats that will make it lighter, Faster and stronger.
I also saw some TOP SECRET plans that is being worked on by Errol and Troy. I gave it a very close inspection and It gets two big thumbs up from me. If this idea goes into production it will give the Bass fisherman a almost perfect boat. Just keep your ears and eyes on Fastcat in the next few years and watch them grow

Ya'll just wait till the new boats come out, 100+ will be the norm with a 250 on it and you can do it and still have the smothest ride, best handling, boat built. Yes there are other boats that are faster than a Fastcat but if there is more than a small chop they have to stay on the beach. A fastcat will do 70 mph in a 3' chop while you are drinking a cup of coffee.

Is there a way to mount the trolling motor off to one side or the other. It seems by the pictures that where it's currently mounted that there isn't enough room to stow it with the seat installed. I could be wrong ...I'm only going by the pictures.

Yes, and when I order another FastCat, it will be centered at the bow, but angled across the deck. My last Cat had the motor centered and it was a problem, but the deck was so roomy and I'm so used to simply standing and fishing, I rarely if ever put the front seat in the socket.

It can also be mounted alongside one of the sponsons and I was told the boat would still track straight due to the hull design.
