depth finder problem

What would cause my Lowrance LCX-15 MT to flash the depth at 0? The boat and unit are new to me. I believe it has a thru-hull transducer because the only thing I find at the transom is a temp sensor. If it is the transducer, how do I go about replacing it?

well it should be located somewhere in your battery/boat crap compartment.  i think they just epoxy them down so its up to you if you wanna just tear the thing off i suppose.  wish i could help more

Try unplugging the transducer from the back of the unit and see if anything changes. If it doesn't you need a new x-ducer. If it does you problem might lie in the head unit.

I just bought a new bottom line finder and it just shuts itself off after a few minutes
sometimes after only 5-10 seconds. What is the likley cause of that?
