My tackle bag tip...w/pics

Well, if your like me and you have your own boat, going fishing with someone else can be a logistical problem tackle wise. I was going to buy me a small tackle bag but I couldnt find one that suited me. Then while I was getting ready to go fishing last summer, the answer was right in my hands. I bought a small Artic Zone soft sided cooler to use during the summer to keep my drinks and stuff cold when ever we went on a trip.

Here is the cooler relative to a 20 oz. Mtn. Dew bottle:

This is what I usually bring on a fishing trip when I am not in my boat or going to a pond.
39 bags of assorted plastics, one plano box with crank baits and top waters. A cd wallet with about 15 different spinnerbaits, and another plano box with my jigs. I use the front pocket to hold my finesse jigheads, hooks, weights, sunscreen, and medication. If I have any snacks they go in there also:

Here is the bag loaded up with the soft plastics, all 39 bags:

Next the jig box, crankbait box and cd wallet go in next. If you carry a spare reel or a spool of line also:

There you are, ready to go with your tackle bag, er cooler.

This is just one money saving tip that could help you save some money thing summer. The cooler has a removeable hard plastic liner for holding ice. That way you dont have your ice and drinks with the plastic smell.

Man, that is a great idea. Do you leave it packed up, or do you supply it from your other tackle bags/boxes.

I used to have a bag almost identical to yours but red, but I ended up buying toooooo much stuff so I had to upgrade. Dang that bait monkey.

The CD Wallet idea for the spinner/buzz baits is great. I was sitting looking through my tackle bag last night attempting to find a good way to store all of my spinner baits and buzzbaits (Right now I am using the toss in and fight 'em out later) Genious.

I did the same with a camo soft cooler but I ordered trays from cabelas to fit inside of it.

Dang thats alot of plastics that one carries around. Is that the normal of what people carry? Im a new amateur fisherman and never used plastics.

GSB that all depends on how much u like fishing plastics. The water I fish is chocked with Hydrilla and most of the time either a heavy Jig or plastics are the ticket. One doesn't have to have all those plastics, but I like to a have a good selection.

Well then you are missing out big time. Plastic can be the most productive bait. I normally dont carry as much as shown in this thread but i do take a few that have proven to catch fish time and time again. If i could suggest and 3 plastic baits 6 inch pumpkin/chart. lizards, electric blue u-tail worms, and pumpkin craws. Those are the 3 i always take with me.

Id like to use plastics one day. Is using plastics off the shoreline and banks good? cause i dont have a boat...yet.

I'm in the same predicament as GSB. No boat, just shorelines of weedy areas, and i haven't had the chance to go get me some good plastics yet. I have a buncha 2 or 3" grubs from quite a few years ago, but they're all covered in gunk and probably aren't too appetizing to fish. Anyone have any suggestions on what to get for a beginner's tacklebox? Maybe others are asking the same questions.
