Not sure what made me try this, I dont think I have heard of anyone else using, so if I am copying someone elses work...I apologize...but this worked for me on a local pond VERY WELL!!!

I am not a fan of jig headed hooks for tubes, so in the past, I have typically just texas rigged the tube, and fished it like any other plastic, with some success.  I wanted to slow my fall down, though, and give the tube kind of a "wacky" presentation.  So, I tied my texas rig weightless, rigged my tube, then pinched a small split shot onto the middle of the hook, in the middle of the tube, rather than at the head of the tube.  It made the tube fall in a more horizontal fashion, just a touch slower, and gave it kind of a funny action.  Caught several nice fish like this, and will try it again soon on a bigger body of water.

Take a look at falcon lures 'flutter jigs'... ;)

interesting, nice thing about the split shot though, you can move it up or down the hook to "tune" the fall angle, and, quickly change the weight with just a couple pinches...

thanks for the headsup though...geez...and i thought i had an original idea... ???

tmarsh83, it is a great tip, although not a new one. I have never seen/heard of this method, so thanks.

I've always liked the idea of putting a split shot on a hook. You can pick from any size you need, place it anywhere you want to adjust its fall, and just take it off to go weightless. If you lose it, no big loss. I'm not big on tubes at all, but split shotting a hook is good for lots of things.
