Interesting topic....I've never given it much thought, and I smoke while fishing... but I also spay all the lures I use with attractant, and it usually gets all over my hands too....  I'll have to pay more attention now... thanks for the tip....

No-one mentioned anything about chewing tobacco.  Would spitting into the water your fishing make that big of a difference ya think?

and probably a lot more...

These days I like to have my hands free of these smells and use attractant on my hands as an extra precaution, but in the past I have had most of these smells on my hands during fishing and IMO I can't say I have noticed any differences from then and now. (but I'm not very good at catching fish anyway  lo lo )
