Why would someone want to use a coated line over a 100% fluorocarbon line? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Well the advantages to co-polymer lines rest IMO in spooling and casting.  I think since it is a mono line coated in fluoro, it spools up nicely on a spinning reel for example, and it will have less issues if you don't spool it 100% properly.  Fluoro can loop badly if you don't spool it correctly.

Disadvantages....  Well, I know guys really like lines like Yo-Zuri Hybrid, but it is going to have more stretch (not necessarily a bad thing) than a 100% fluoro line.  Co-polymers are generally cheaper than fluoro.  I would have to think fluoro is more invisible than a co-polymer, and have less stretch.
