Repairing sticking and jerking drags on Abu Garcia reels

I have had a problem with the drags in my Morrum and Ambassadeur reels sticking and jerking.  Took them apart and cleaned the drag surfaces and used some light oil on the disks and reassembled.  They are still sticking and jerking.  Any suggestions on how to get them back to pulling smooth and even?

Check all the metal surfaces of the drag system, the slightest corrosion can cause this On my Ambassador reel drags I don't use any lubrication at all, the drag washers are composite and do well with out the oil
