Hey guy's and gal's got a few ?'s about this rod CBR783.

The baits I like to use are DT10's 6 and 4's, shad raps 5 and 7's and husky jerks and the original rapala and some smaller 1/4 crankbaits.

The largest I use would be the DT10 a

Will the rod handle a DT10, I didnt to get the 845 cause I dont want it to be over powering for my smaller baits, I dont fish real deep water anyway.

Anyone out there use this rod that can maybe give some more insight about it.

Thanks

I am not big on G-Loomis rods, not that I don't like them, I have gotten into all stars.

But I do have the rod you are talking about and I think it should be about perfect for the baits you are talking about. I has a decent back bone with what I would call a medium tip. Now for cranks I prefer a lot of action in the tip of the rod, it sounds like you are trying to get something that would be a good all around rod that you could throw several differnt baits with. I think you have picked a good one for that. I would pay attention to my drag and make sure it worked well for surges during the battle. But other than that (and it may not be an issue really) Good Choice

Thanks Mike,
The rod came yesterday man this thing is light.

I got it strickly for small to med size cranks I catch allot of bass on dt6's jsr #5 and 7's looks to be a perfect rod for that.

I'm really picky about my drag I use shimano dart drag washer in my crhonarch it's a really smooth drag.

I was into allstars in the mid 90's but I could never get a straight blank they all seem to crooked, i'm sure that has changed since then.

Glad you like the G-Loomis, I figured you would. I have never had a problem with the all stars but I will definately watch for it, thanks.
