That's great!  I kind of know ConnieK from....well.....I hate to say it but from ANOTHER board on the internet that I frequent~~~ Sorry 'bout that, but yes, I do visit that other place now & then ~shhh.  Anyhow, I just was corresponding via email a couple of days ago with Connie about sending some Curados over to her.  She has a very loyal following with the "other" board, & I know she'll have a lot to offer here.  She will have the answers to a whole lot of reel maintenance questions that we all have now & then.  Her site is plumb FULL of great info, and I am planning to order her reel maintenance video in the near future.  Their business is located over on Lake Fork, TX.  Man, wbat a place to live, huh?  So........wlecome to the board Ms. Connie!

Marty (punky's bud, hahahaha!!!)

Marty,
I am glad she will come here to a few friends ;) My forum philosophy is that there is room for more than one forum bookmark on your favorites and even I frequent different sites so don't be embarrassed  :) I am glad that when she arrives we will have a great greeting already for her!

Other site?  :-\ You mean there is another bass fishing site? I know of one for bass fishing, one for catfishing, on for chevy's, one for hunting, but I didn't know there was another one for bass fishing!  :-\

Mike Cork

Well between Marty and Papa, I guess I don't have to introduce ConnieK. Obviouly she is well know in the fishing community, her specialty is Shimano Baitcasters. She used to work on zebco's as well but no longer deals with them but I am sure she could answer a question or two about them. Oh and she says that she doesn't work with spinning reels at all. But I don't know many fisherman (except those west of the sierra mountains that even use a spinning reel.

So continue with the warm welcome and hopefully she can help some of us club for fingers fisherman and weman out in the reel area.

Thank You ConnieK

Welcome Connie,

Sure glad you dropped in on our little world. :)  I'm sure there will be lots of questions on here for you.......and Mike, I guess I'm one of the few who uses those spinning reels some, just can't lay down my Lew's #2's for light weight plastic's around boat docks..... :'(  But hey, I'm West of the Smokie Mountains.......... lo lo lo

There is nothing wrong with them just don't know many folks that still use them. It's funny because I use my heavy weight west coast worm rod (5-5 with a spinning reel) for crappie fishing around there  lo

:-[ You folks are too kind. I'm embarrassed. gosh, what a nice warm hello and welcome. WOW! I think I've hit the jackpot! hmm, not so lucky several weeks ago at Shreveport. It was a long ride home. :'(
I share information with everybody about the exciting world of rod and reel repair. I truly believe anglers today want to know and I believe the more educated they are about their equipment, the better job they can do landing those big ole fish.  If I don't know a answer, I will sure try to find out. I've been in the biz for about 12 years now I guess. Long time.We have the video on the market for anglers to learn how to maintain thier own reels plus we have a training school here for folks who want to know how to go into this great little biz.
Thanks again for the very nice compliments, we sure do appreciate it. My cap probably won't fit my head now.

Hey Connie, we shore do appreciate you dropping all that loot over here at the boats, hahaha!  You'll probably get most of it back when you get a box in the mail with about 10 of my Curados in it!  ;D  Well, maybe not all 10 at once, but eventually they will all make it over there I am sure.  Papa, it's not the "Y" word, it's actually the BFHP.  Connie knows about that one, I'm sure!  Of course, it's not polite to say other boards names when you're on a particular one, so I will heretofore refrain!   Hey Mike, I'm actually planning to buy a spinning reel(Daiwa Regal Z 2500) & rod for my very next purchase.  I have discovered the world of drop shotting & a spinning rod seems to work best for that presentation.  I don't use that technique a whole lot, but mostly on Toledo Bend.  I have caught fish on the drop shot at several local waters, namely the river, Bistineau & Cleco, but it's not something I use all that much around here.  Now.....down on the south end of the Bend, say around Indian Mounds & Six Mile, now that's another story!  DS is a killer technique down there sometimes.  However......I digress!  Ms. Connie, again I'm real glad you're here & I'm sure you're gonna find these are some great folks to know 8).  See ya around!

Marty you are right some folks don't like names of other boards mentioned the only thing I don't like is giving away links... Shoot, I know they all exist and have plenty of members  ;) so there is no reason not to mention them just don't give away links and I will stay happy ;)

When you type the addresses leave off the www so you would type wmi.org instead of the whole thing and that way folks can check out other places and it doesn't give out links that we have to work for  ~c~

I really think that we have a great group of guys/gals but if I thought that they could get everything they needed from me I would be fooling myself and it ain't nice to fool Mother Nature  lo
