this is the first I have heard of doing this but Pro after Pro will tell you this works ...

k heres the tip :

Stopping the Bait from sliding down back down the Hook ...

this tip is for Texas Rigged Tubes , Craws , Lizards , Creatures , or Worms ...

to correct this problem heres what you do ...

1) slide a bullet weight onto the line and peg it into place using a rubber band

2) the next step is putting the line throu one end of your Number 8 or Number 10 silver swivel .... (sliver because it adds flash) .....

3) Tie the bait to the Hook

4) Insert the Hook throu the nose of the bait

5) Before reinserting the bait run the Hook point throu the other end of the swivel

6) The swivel is then pushed up the shank of the hook to the eye of the hook

7) To finish you then insert the point of the Hook throu the bait to " Tex Pose " the point

The swivel rides on the eye of Hook at the knot , keeping the bait where it has to be

It should be noted this tip is also suited for heavy line ( 12 lb test and up )

Great idea, I use a lot of super glue to keep my baits from riding the hook this might be a good alternative. Just think I won't have to pry my fingers apart anymore  :roll2: :roll2:

Here's another tip for keeping baits from sliding down ayour hook shank. This is for straight shank hooks

Cut a small piece of heat shrink tubing about 1/2 inch long make the cut at about a 45 degree angle.

Slide the tubing over the hook point with the angle towards the hook eye.
Start heating the shrink tube at the farthest point from the hook eye. Don't heat it all the way up to the angle. When your done the tubing will be tight on the shank and the angle will be curled up like a barb keeping your plastic in place.

It's cheap easy to do and very effective.
