Hit the river this morning for a little friendly competition with a coworker and did decent. We got 5 fish from 7am until 11am. with all fish coming off of wind blown banks in 7ft of water. They were hitting reaction baits and jigs. We had a sunny sky and a water temp of 49. Here is our winning 5.

And here is big fish. A 4lb smallie.

Good Job Miles.  I'll be hitting Quinny to with Dennis in the morning.  Hopefully get some fish as well.

Rob head left out of the launch and start fishing the left bank by the train tracks. There are a ton of schooling smallies there.

Miles don't beleive were going to that section.  I usually go with Dennis to the lower end that isn't stock with trout.

Great Job, man it's hard to believe your water temp is in the 40's aready :shocking:

Miles has been hounding me to make a fishing report... so here it goes Miles, Hit the Quinebaug River on Friday for a little err friendly competition and thought i had won as I was going for the least amount of fish and the Smallest.  The Guppy I caught was definitely the smallest.  I didn't realize Miles had said the largest and the bag limit of 5.  It was windy and I couldn't really make out what he was saying as he roared by doing mach 90 or whatever.    Anyways back to the report.  I was throwing everything from spinners, rattle traps, crankbaits to no avail, although I did manage to loose a spinner and a rattle trap the ever famous tree Bass.  It did put up a good fight until my line broke.  However I did manage to catch my Guppy on my trusty Mister Twister chartuese in color.  And yes that was on a wind blown bank.

Glad to see your report. Next time you need to follow me to the lower section of that river. There are some good fish down stream.

Fished Quinny on Saturday morning for few hours with a good freind.  Managed to catch a few.  I caught mine on Rattle Traps out on a drop off from 4 to 9 feet of water.  My buddies came off flipping tight to tress.  Water was between 49-50.  No big ones biggest about 2 lbs.

2lbers are nothing to be unhappy about. I am going to try to hit the river again on friday.

anyone know the start time and directions for this sunday?

Tritonrob

that's the one Miles.  Here are directions.  If they are coming passed Beach pond, then they will want to stay on 138 like they are going to go to the pachaug launch. Continue to follow 138 past pachaug launch and all the way to were it runs into a TEE at a light (past 395 and everything). There will be a bank to the left and a gas station (exxon) to the right. This is now route 12. Take a right onto RT 12 and go into the little town. There will be a split in the road, BEAR LEFT, this is still RT 12. follow for about 3 miles and you will see a pond on the right and then the DUTCH UNCLE(blue building) on the left. Take the first left after the dutch uncle, then follow the road to the second left. Ramp will be 50 yards on the right.
