FISHING REPORT NUMBER 29: 11/1/2006
INLAND REPORT
High winds and rain made it very difficult to put in any meaningful fishing time this past weekend. Fall
presents it's own challenges to river fishermen due to the presence of leaves in the water that can result
in 'false strikes'. Frustrated fishermen repeatedly set the hook only to bring in a variety of leaves. Fall
foliage can be as colorful as their comments. Despite that, some resourceful anglers managed some
decent catches of their favorite query.

LARGEMOUTH BASS fishing is generally rated as fair with reports from Lake Lillinonah, Quonnipaug
Lake, Candlewood Lake (5lb bass among the catches), Bashan Lake and Pierrepont Pond (5.2 lb bass).
Good fishing reported from Highland Lake (including a 5.6 lb fish) and Pachaug Pond. Hatch Pond and
Amos Lake reported to be slow.

SMALLMOUTH BASS action reported from Lake Lillinonah, Candlewood Lake, Highland Lake and
Squantz Pond.
