Went to fishing yesterday for a few hours to Roebuke Lake ......located 7 miles south of Hugo OK....on Hwy 271......I started out throwing a spinnerbait but no takers went to the worm no takers....then I noticed that the bait fish was schooling in about 4ft of water off of a point so I changed rod and started to burning a Rattle trap through the school no takers....after several cast I decided to slow the trap down and "bam" caught a nice 2 1/2 pounder on a chrome Rattle Trap with black on the back...... I continued to throw but no takers threw the kitchen sank at them but they would not hit the lures but every few minutes a bass would hit in the school.......the shad would clear the water but could not get those bass to take a lure....decided after about two hours to call it a day...........

the water temp was 76
the water was stained
wind was out of the ESE at 14 MPH
lure used was a Rattle Trap
Fish caught in 3-4 ft of water off of a point

Top, Have you ever tried a wild eye storm swim bait?  I used the small pearl colored one without the curly tail at broken bow years ago.  I could not get a bite on any thing else.  Fished it on lite line spinning gear.  It's a great Panic lure for me and I tie them on when I see shad schooled up.
