Went out this morning trying to get on a topwater bite.  Started out throwing a Pop-R along the grass lines, had one strike and missed it.  Switched over to my "faithful" Sismic Toad...second cast:

Fished the toad for about 15 more minutes and swapped out to the 10" worm.  No takers on the worm, went back with the Toad and this lil guy nailed it like he was 5 lbs...Fish hit the toad then went airborne:

Got a quick pic of the lil guy and put 'em back.  Very next cast, BAM...

This fish hit the toad so hard it tore it to pieces.  Good fish but seemed on the skinny side, must have had to do with the way it hit the Toad.  Thought it was going to fill its belly.   ~beer~

Left that spot alone and ran down river.  Hit a hole that has been good to me in the past.  After about 15-20 mins I ran back up river and fished another spot that has produced good numbers and quality fish.   Got three fish off the 10" worm.  One that would have kept and two shorts.  The shorts fought harder than the Keeper.

All in all it was a good trip.  I wish I had some one with me to help take pics  ::)

BUT, I did have the video camera and I caught all three topwater hits on the frog.  Right now I dont have the right connection to transfer the video to digital.  May run over to Flicko's Saturday and do that so I can post the video.   ~c~

Good day on the water till that South breeze kicked up.  Main river was close to white capping when I left out, it was starting to roll pretty good.

Very worm like.... :roll2:  I try to swim the worm around the grass.  That is were most of my fish come from.

What kind of rig do you use? Thanks

3/0 wide gap hook, 1/8th oz Water Gremlin bull-shot weight, 10" worm.   Texas rigged.  The reason I use the bull shot is that I can go from weighted to weightless quicker than cutting and retie.
