Largemouth bass
Description:
Sunfishes include some of the best-known fish in Indiana. Bluegill, redear sunfish, black and white crappie, largemouth, spotted and smallmouth bass are all members of the sunfish family. On the largemouth bass, the upper jaw extends beyond back of eye, differentiating the fish from the smallmouth bass. The largemouth bass commonly reached six pounds.

Bait: live bait, artificial lures
Depth: N/A

Comments about fish:

Bass fishing has been fairly good for bass in the 10 to 13 inch size class. Remember that new regulations are in effect for this lake, including a minimum size limit of 18 inches with a bag limit of two fish.

Comments about body of water:

Fishing continues to be affected by all of the weed growth in the lake. Access to some areas has been very difficult. Overall success has been fair for both panfish and bass. Bass fishing is mostly catch and release at this time with the 18 inch minimum size limit. The lake is still at pool stage. Electric motor only on this lake. Remember to check on the new special regulations that have been adopted for this property. Also as a reminder, there will be no concessions at the property for bait, pop, snacks, etc. so bring everything you need. Boats will be rented during office hours but remember to bring your own life preserver. The lake will close to boat fishing on August 29 for teal and early goose seasons.
