Lake Michigan

Indiana: All along the lake in 65-to-95 feet of water salmon are slammin': CN, CO on dodgers, flies, meat rigs, spoons. SH on meat rigs and spoons. All over Lake Michigan: SM on jumbo leeches, pond crabs. (catch and release please) Calumet Park, Hammond and East Chicago Marina, Burns Ditch, Port of Indiana, Michigan City: PE on spinners, softshells, baby golden roaches, shrimp. The big fish are over weed beds. Michigan City: WA on baby golden roaches, softshells.

Illinois: Belmont, Montrose and Diversey Harbors, 63rd and 95th street: CN, CO on dodgers, flies, spoons. SH on minnows, baby golden roaches, crankbaits. RB, BG, CR on worms, minnows.

Kankakee River

Indiana: Kingsbury Fish & Wildlife Area: CH on minnows, chicken liver. NP on big minnows. Point north of English Lake: NP on daredevl spoons, minnows. Rte 49 through Davis Ditch: WA on countdowns, jig/crawler, jig/minnow. Kankakee Marsh Park: CR on pinkie jigs, minnows, popping bugs. LaSalle Fish & Wildlife Area: LM on plastic worms, chug bugs, snag proof frogs.

Illinois: (NOTE: The river is still blocked with logs near the state line). Reject Island through Glorydale: WA on jig/minnow, keeper hooks, twister tails. CH on minnows, cheese bait. Aroma Park-Ryans Pier through Baker Creek: SM on mepps #3 spinners, softshell, minnows. Kankakee Dam through Perry Farm: SM on spinners, keeper hooks, single or double twister tails. CH on minnows, cheese bait. Altorf at Kankakee State Park: SM on minnows, mepps spinners, rebel crawdads. Fly fishermen are using nymphs, streamer flies. Riverfront Camp through Wilmington Island Park: SM on minnows, slab buster spinners, rebel crawdads. RB on spinners, rubber spiders, crawfish. Des Plaines Conservation Area: SM on minnows, jig/crawlers, jig/twister tails.

Wolf Lake

LM on plastic worms, sankos, yum crawpappies. PN on bee moth, small jigs. WA in low light hours on leeches, husky jerks.

Lake George

BG on bee moth, minnows, small jigs. LM on plastic worms, spinner baits. CH on stink baits, crawlers.

Pine and Stone Lakes

PN on worms, bee moth, small jigs.

Lake Wawasee

LM on yum crawpappies, surface baits.

Powderhorn Lake

LM on plastic worms, sankos. BG on bee moth, small jigs.

Illinois River

CH on cheese and stink baits, chicken liver. CA on crawlers, carp dough.

Fox River

FH on cut bait, large roaches.

NOTE: Perch fishing is closed in Illinois during the month of July for everyone aged 16 and older.
