Hey everyone!

I fished Walnut Creek, Thursday (8 June) and here is the report:
Weather: PC, Hot.  Water Temp 80+.  Fished thru the timber, down the middle of the lake, with no bites and various baits.  I then went to the red shad 7.5" curly tail (YUM), and caught the first fish after an hour.  Then, proceeded to catch 7 more using only red shad  YUM worm (I tried testing other baits with no takers).  I had only one Iowa class keeper (15")--Walnut creek limit is 21".

I had a young teenager on the back, who was throwing 3" red shad wooly Hawgtails (YUM), and he too wound up with 8 fish on the evening, with one being 15" or so.  (he tried other baits, and only the red shad would work.

The youngsters dad, on an other boat, also caught 8, but was throwing the weightless senko-type bait... Guess what was the only color to work...  You got it... red shad.

So, Red shad was the WC Thursday bait of choice.

Fished Mile Hill, on Friday, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.  Weather: 98° or more, 35 MPH winds, and PC skies.  Report:  I started off throwing the red shad worm, tied on from Walnut, and immediately caught one short.  Decided to flip jigs instead and ended up catching 7 more on a brown jig with a YUM camo trailer.  Two of the eight were actually keepers (one 15" and one 16"), that has never happened in Mile hill.  I can usually always catch 5-6 fish in there, but never a keeper!

Sat, a front passed thru Omaha, and the temps went from 98 to 62.  Did not fish on Sat (had to [father's day] shop with the wife and went out to eat...

Sun, after getting all the chores done, went up to Walnut Creek, to see if I could catch anything, on the second day after CFP (cold frontal passage), but this time, started with a red shad Yum worm and a Yum watermelon green tube.  The tube never produced a thing, even changed to Junebug, and still nothing., However, the worm produced 5 fish between 3:15 and 5:45.  Weather, started about 65 and cloudy, ended 75 and clear.  Breezy WNW wind.  Fish were holding tight to grass edges (inside and outside) and manged to pull a nice 3+ pounder off a log in about 18" of water.  Of the 5, one was 18" and one was 15.5", the rest were 14's.

Only saw one idiot on Sunday (boat reg was from 1998)-- Apparently in NE, it is optional to register your boat...
