Skies: Overcast
Current: Yes
Water clarity: Clear
Water level: High
Fishing Time: 7-12:30
Bass landed: 9
Top 5: 15lbs Biggest bass: 4lbs

Had no choice but to bank fish today in the Everglades. With both my boat and truck out of commission, I had to hoof it!

Arrived at 0 dark thirty. By the time I reached the strip of bank, I wanted to fish dawn was approaching.

When I stepped out of my car, the chilly air hit me. Burrr,, was not expecting that, plus I had no jacket. I'm a lightweight when it comes to cold. Lol!!

I started with the frog. The water was high but not spilling over the banks, along with a lot of pepper grass.

I threw the frog for about 45 minutes. With 0 signs of life.

Switched over to the swim bait and began to come across some bass. The first two swipes were misses. I eventually connected with a decent bass as the swimbait was hugging the shoreline.
Short while later, connected with another decent bass.

The swimbait bite slowed down, so I switched over to a stick bait. After about 15 minutes or so, I put it back in my car. Lol!!

Went back to a swimbait, and again, nothing. I knew the frog wasn't going to make it happen, so I went with my last lure in my bag. The spook boyo.

As luck should have it, despite the gray and windy conditions. The bass began to smoke the  spook.

One second, the spook was on top of the water, and the next, I would see a toilet bowl flush and a bass would inhale the spook.

Kept walking the bank, and every 10 min or so, a nice bass would inhale the spook.

The pattern continued until I had to get going. I'm sure if would I have stayed, my top 5  would have gone over the 15lb mark.

All in all, it was a fun bank fishing outing with several nice bass landed.

Thanks for reading!

Nice job Lou.  Sorry to hear about the mechanical problems.  Good to hear the water was not over the banks.  Thanks for the report. ~c~
