Greetings to everyone,

Partly sunny skies with forecasted temps of 77-96dgrs here in Central Texas.  We have 56%humidity with a S wind @ 9mphs.  Still no chance of any rain in the upcoming 5 day forecast.

Fired up the John Deere mower this morning and mowed the weeds down.  Those weeds grow pretty quick even without any rain. It didn't take to long as I didn't have to trim the yard this time.

There's nothing planned for the rest of the day except relaxation  ;)

Joe; Glad your feeling better and yep Water Time cures a lot of things  ~shade

To everyone hope ya'll are having a pleasant day today.  Be safe in your travels while out and about.

Good morning to all,

Blue Bird skies are all over Central Texas this morning  ~sun  ~sun   Our forecasted temps for today are 75-98dgrs with 79%humidity with a SE wind @ 7mphs.

Nothing special happening here today.  I do need to make a run to Walmart to pickup a few items.  The rest of the day will be spent relaxing.  We are having dinner with an old friend from church this evening.  He's a retired College Professor from East Michigan.  We've known one another for over 20yrs.  I'm looking forward to sharing the evening with him and his lovely wife.

Joe; Congrats on catching that toad there.  Tks for sharing the picture with us.

Top;  :toot: Congrats to you and your wife on your 19th Wedding Anniversary  ~c~   Ya'll enjoy the time together.   Glad to see that you were able to get the bearings to fix your reel.

To everyone be safe in your travels.  I hope yawls day is a pleasant one and the evening ahead is a relaxing one.

Great weather to start the day but rain expected about 2pm.  Just finished mowing the lawn to get that job out of the way for the weekend.  The weekend is supposed to be really good weather so I am thinking a bringing the Ranger home for a battery charge and a general clean up.  It will be fun just to spend some time with the old girl.  Hopefully the Mrs. will not surprise me with some other BS job she wants done.  As you can tell i hate being interrupted when I finally get to do something I want to do and messing with the boat just happens to be one of those things.

Bowling yesterday was a real disaster.  Could not do anything right for the first two games but did recover a little on the third game.  It is a bit like getting skunked while bass fishing if you know what I mean.

caddyjoe77

Went out today, jig bite was still on pretty strong in areas. Wind changed so had to find the right area. Once you did that, it was on.  Then lost my jig and didn't have another in boat so i took a boat ride and called it a day.  It was real still out too, can tell weather changed the fish.

Rest of day is haircut and getting a bobcat or similar lined up for some yard work post LP tank inground installation.

Hope ya have a good'n.

Greetings to everyone,

Ground Hog Day weather wise here in Central Texas today.  Beautiful clear skies with forecasted temps of 75-97dgrs with a S wind @ 6mphs.  The humidity for today is going to be 78%.

My wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant dinner with our friends last night.  They prepared a lasagna dish, a light tossed salad, toasted garlic bread and a Lemon Aid Ice Tea drink.  I've never had that drink before and it was very tasty. For desert we had a baked lemon pie and black coffee  :food

I'm doing laundry and a couple other minor tasks here this morning.  My wife and her Master Garden Cohorts are all having lunch today at Olive Garden.  I'm going to have to figure out a place to have dinner later on.  Nothing really sounds good though.

Joe; tks for stopping by and sharing the trip with us.  Glad to hear you were able to find the fish and  hook up with some.

Bud; Yep some days are like getting skunked.  Glad to hear that you were able to recover during the 3rd game.

To everyone hope your Friday is going well for you.  Be safe traveling and always be mindful of your surrounds.

Mornin' Y'all!

Not much happening today, just road trippin, Our vaccinating vet does those outdoor office things on the weekends.  So we go there usually and get the dogs vaccinated and treated all at once a little cheaper.  In general we have had pretty good luck health wise with our dogs so we see this guy almost exclusively.

This guy Loved Shepp, although he was a handful so telling him about our loss is going to be tough for him.

They were scheduled to have "court" in session locally this weekend, but for some reason they are in Mt. Bellview this weekend instead so we are going to drive there.

We just got Madisyn (Dang pound sure has a funny way of naming dogs) and she seems to have a bit of Kennel Cough or something, so we are going to take her to see this guy and start her medical history.

We have another local vet for major concerns, like when we had to put down Tad for his cancer.

Past few months have been a big change dog wise around here.

Good morning to all,

Our forecasted temps for across Central Texas this morning are 74-95dgrs.  We got 69%humidity with a S wind @ 7mphs.  We got lots of sun out there and it's going to be a little on the warm side this afternoon.

There's nothing planned for today I'm just going to hang out in the computer room and watch some college football.

Jim; Tks for stopping by this morning.  Sorry again to hear of the lost of your long time pet there.  Good luck with getting the New Family Member adjusted to it's new home.

To everyone I hope your weekend will be a safe and enjoyable one.  Be safe in your travels during this weekend.  Tight lines to those hitting the water.

Afternoon guys.

I found STREN line again!! Went to Dania Beach Bass Pro and they had a bunch of it finally back in stock. You bet your rear that I grabbed 8 spools of it. Now to rip this Trilene off my reel. Yeah, yeah, I know "they're the same company.." but this Trilene has never been as good to me as the Stren was. Especially since all my peacocks have been caught on 8-10lb mono and my spinning combo.

Work work work for this guy.  Loving supporting these folks though.  Planning on getting back out there this weekend, day temps in the 70s with night temps dropping into the low 60/high 50 range.  Feedbags should be back on.

Good morning to everyone,

Another beautiful Fall day here across Central Texas this morning.  We got Blue Bird Skies with forecasted temps of 61-85dgrs.  The winds are out of the North at 10mphs with 54%humidty.

We're off to Gatesville for lunch today something different to do.  Received a call early this morning from the roofing company I chose back in Aug.  They've caught up on their work after that tornado went through the area.  They will be here tomorrow morning bright and early to install our new roof  ~c~

Other than having lunch up in Gatesville there is nothing else planned for today.

Top; Tks for stopping by.  Glad you were able to find that Stren line.  I've never been a big fan of Stren although I have used it early on in my fishing career.  BTW that home made outboard motor stand looks great.  That should last you a real long time.  Tks for sharing that project with us.

Joe; Tks also for stopping by and sharing the day.  Yep work, work, and more work we can't really get away from it.  Brother tight lines for ya on the next outing  ~shade

Lawn mowing today.  I wanted to get it done and trimmed before the rain that is expected to begin overnight tonight.  We are forecasted for some wet weather as part of the hurricane but it won't amount to much and the winds will only be in the 30s for the most part.  Bottom line is that it will mostly be a rain event for a few days with some local street flooding and river flooding likely. the river flooding really depends upon what happens up in North Carolina.  I would think the river system will mostly impact the Santee River and into the Santee Lakes.  When this happens the water gets that chocolate milk looking color.

Donald, happy you are getting your new roof tomorrow.   It has been a long wait.  Does this include some of the window work you mentioned a while ago or is that already done.

With the hurricane being so large most us in the south will feel some of the impact in one way or another.

Good morning to everyone,

Blue Bird Skies are everywhere across Central Texas this morning.  Our forecasted temps for our area today are 62-87dgrs with a NE wind @ 5mphs with 72%humidity.  There's still no rain in the upcoming 10day forecast.

The roofers showed up at 7am this morning.  They are busy as all get out removing the old and prepping for the new.  With them being here today there isn't much going on for me to do.

Today my wife and I are celebrating quietly our 49th Wedding Anniversary.  Once the contractors depart later on I'm taking her out to eat.  I've been extremely lucky to have her as my wife.  She has done a  amazing job raising 2 kids during my 30yrs of being in the military and working overseas for 7yrs.  She is the best.

Top: The motor stand looks great.  Tks for sharing the picture with us.  That piece of equipment should last you a long time.

Bud; Hope the nasty weather doesn't change course and wind up at your place.  Yep its been a long wait for sure on getting the new roof.  They're here now and hopefully they'll be done here today.  They have a huge crew here must be 8 guys.  The window and screens were replace a couple weeks ago.

Alrighty you all have a really pleasant day today.  I hope your evening ahead will be a quiet and relaxing one.  Be safe in your travels if you have to be out and about.

Mornin' Y'all.

Don, Hope your new roof is finished today.  About the time you get it fixed it will be time for the next run of bad weather. Thus the way it goes, eh?

Nice stand Top, hope it makes moving and storing those motors easier.

Just came back from seeing my regular Dr. and went home with more scripts to be filled, and a referral to a foot Dr.

This is the first of the few year end appointments I hope. I got rid of my Cancer Dr, only to exchange for a lung guy and a heart guy.  Now even a foot guy.

This gettin old stuff kind of sucks .... and is expensive to boot.

The new dogs are settling in and learning how to be spoiled pretty well right now.  Both of them hardly every bark, although they are more vocal now than compared to when they moved in.

Its been a long time since I watched dogs play and rearrange the furniture at the same time, and I never realized how much I missed it.

Afternoon guys.

Was a good day, got to fish almost all day. Was a little windy and rough out. They had a little "Fishing Tournament" at the Lox Refuge today. I felt bad because I was the only one who really caught anything out there. (just 5 little peacocks). I felt soo bad that I finally said "Here, take this and throw it there. You, take that and throw there." Then they started catching some small bass and peacocks too.

It was a Kids Fishing Event. LOL.

The guys and park ranger asked if I'd like to come back and help out in February for their next kids event. Which I gladly accepted.

As for bass, the peacocks were out in force today. Nothing really big, but little 1-2lb here & there. Water was high, so there was about a foot of water over top the normally thick, matted grass. A little minnow underspin in white/chartreuse and it was "here we go!" Even had some luck with a small Strike King Bitsy Bug in Okeechobee Craw topped with a KVD Half Shell in KVD Magic. Just toss to the pockets, jig, repeat.

Once everyone left Lox, I just went over to Osbourne and bank hopped. A bunch of small oscars and baby peas.

Figured y'all would get a kick outta this "trophy catch" too. He's as big as the bait. LOL.

Quiet day today.  Partly cloudy with a nice gentle breeze.  Did not do much today except go get some groceries and basically just veg out in my office and mess with the computer.    Storm here at the beach was not bad winds did gust up to 50 in some isolated locations but mostly in the 40 mph gusts here at home.  Rain was not all that much either.  only about an inch or two,  Inland got a lot of rain and filled the rivers that were already quite high but now they are back at flood stage once again.  Will likely stay that way until late October before the swamps drain out.  That all depends upon not getting any more tropical stuff until them.  Upstate SC got hit hard with a large amount of rain and wind and a lot of reported tree damage.  Flooding also as the rivers fill up with all that mountain run off.

Donald by now your roof is done and already you are thinking about your next project.  Even if you don't know it yet you can bet there will be another one  LOL

Stopped by to check on the Ranger and all is well.  One thing for sure those original Ranger covers are worth their weight in gold especially when it come to protecting your boat during ugly weather like we had the other day.  I would have to say they are worth their cost.

Donald Garner

Good morning to everyone,

Forecasted temps for across Central Texas today are 65-93dgrs with a West wind @ 2mphs with 56%humidity.  Still no rain in the 10day forecast.

Pretty quiet on the home front today.  Recouping from the weekend spent down in Fredericksburg.  We took in a Tribute Band Show > ZZ Top KC < Saturday night at the Rockbox Theater.  We've seen these guys perform before and they've always done a great job.  There was a new store that just opened on Main Street so the wife had to check it out Sunday morning after breakfast.

So its a lazy day for me for the most part.  I have a couple small errands to tend to this afternoon that wont take long.

Jim; Tks for stopping by.  Yep the crew did a great job on getting the roof completed.  They started at 7am and completed the clean up at 5pm.  It looks great and yep were ready for the next Hail season  ~shade   I have ya in my daily prayers my good man.  Glad to hear that the dogs are getting used to their new surrounds.

Top; Tks for stopping by also.  Tks for taking the time to share the day with those kids.  I'm sure you got them hooked now for life wanting to be fisherman.

Bud;  Tks for stopping by and sharing the day with us.  Glad to hear that the weather wasn't has bad as it could've been.  Reading the news there sure were a lot of people injured and killed from this hurricane.

The roof is completed and the crew did a great job of getting it completed in one day.  They started at 7am and completed the clean up at 5pm.  The next project is getting these ( 2 ) back yard decks restained.  I was going to do but changed my mind.  I'll be looking around for a contractor this Spring to come in and get it done.

I need to get off my lazy butt and buy new covers for the Stratos and G3.  There always seems to be something else that needs those funds  :(

Hope you and your wife are doing well health wise.  I have ya'll in my daily prayers buddy.

To everyone hope your last day here in Sept is a pleasant one.  Y'all be safe in your travels and be mindful of your surrounding.  Enjoy the day and may your evening be a relaxing and pleasant one.
