Got out yesterday for my July fishing trip and to run the motor for a bit. Launched at noon to fish the falling tide in the marsh and hoping for some cloud cover but I just got the hot sun instead. Did put a few fish in the boat before heat stroke set in, 3 healthy keeper bass and 4 shorts, 2 red fish, 1 legal, a small flounder and a goggle eye with all but the biggest red coming on various plastics. Two of the bass, small red and flounder came from the same tree top in less than 5'. Tide was high at 7 am and fell until just after 6 with about a 2' change, water temps from 89 to 94 depending on location, visibility 2-3', air temps in the mid to upper 90's and river stage is 3.7'. Only fished just over 5 hours but I had all of the heat I could take and actually felt sick even though I thought I drank enough water, not as tough as I once was for sure. Probably won't go again til next month if I can catch a decent day.
Retired and loving every minute of it!
