i dont want to take it personal (hahha)  , but Clearlake might have tried to drown me Sunday.  weather reports stated 6mph winds all morning, and it is whipping up by noon with 35mph gusts.  i was stoked to see a slight breeze in the morning.  i pictured me dragging a chatterbait thru grass and getting it slammed by giants.

well, no.  it got windy quick, and the huge lake was like the ocean.  big 4-5 foot swells.  i rode them no problemo, until i started getting a headache and kinda queasy.  hahahah..

thankfully, a really good bass decided to latch onto my drifting plastic.  it was a GREAT fight.  i expected a GIANT, but i pulled up something in the 5.5 range.  i couldnt weigh it because i was so unstable in my kayak to reach for it..way in the storage.  the fish on the side was making it scary.

quick pic and i let it go. and i got off the water.  going back to the ramp, a boater asked if i was going to be okay.

terra firma was very welcomed.

I started to get seasick just reading this.   :shocking:  I've given buying a kayak a lot of thought, but the thought of taking one out on big water isn't real appealing. I don't even enjoy 4 & 5 foot swells in my bass boat. Great that you made something of the day with that 5 pounder.

Dehydration will cause similar feelings, but I'm sure the swells were a constant PITA!

I love my kayak. I mean, I really dig it. But there's also reasons I have a 20' bass boat.
