I don't use FFS, and know little about it, but I do know, you can not stop the use of technology once it is out of the box, and used by many of the competitors.  You may be able to control it for a while, but if it works, it will be back and back stronger then ever.  The young bucks are used to using these types of technology, and they are the future of the sport.  It bring to mind when my parents got a new car in 1964, and refused to get power brakes because they felt they were just too sensitive.  Sounds ridiculous today, but that was their mind set back then.  Technology will continue to expand, and 20 years from now we will be amazed at how far it has gone. :-*

Totally agree. I like how they have limited electric motors and the number of transducers, I think this will create more quick disconnects so anglers can swamp out depending on lake conditions to the transducers and screens they want for the given day.

I don't hate technology, I hate that the price of things have gotten so high that a retired military man also on disability trying to raise 2 grand children will never get to experience the cool new devices... But that's just me whining, I catch plenty of fish when I get to go.

55" of allowed screens. Do the math (literally) on THAT. I think it sucks across the board, but that's me. The NPFL is my new hero.

But that's just me.

so they can no longer run FOUR 16 inch screens.  (64 total inches for the math geeks)  lo

whatever will they do?

but they can still run four 12 inch screens...

I'm guessing the idea was to allow the typical fish finder head units that most people are currently running, but quell the new trend that's starting of people running those bigscreen monitors like NBT makes.

Personally, I would liken the NPFL to arena football , but time will tell how their ban works out.
I heard one of the owners say he wouldn't take FFS off of his boat so it's a business move to try to lure guys over and what do they really have to lose ?
For BASS I think 55 inches is still too much. but I'm glad too see  the 1 transducer deal.
I agree that looking closer at the schedule is a good idea. The northern swing is asking for shoot out for the scopers.
I'm surprised the FFS in a box that Lowrance introduced at ICAST for $999 hasn't gotten more attention.
I just had AT2 with a HDS 9 installed on my boat for $2500 which I think is a good deal, at least compared to the $4000 it would have cost a year ago.

I am fishing as a coangler for Maine's STQT or whatever its called now that BASS has wrecked the state team concept. Tomorrow my boater is scoping for individual smallmouth I will be in the back hoping

The arms race in technology  will be in the transducers. One single unit that shows forward, wide and down without adjustment. Further and further out with more and more detail.

Trolling motors with a reverse stop feature seems doable. Might as well make a 10k TM and 10k transducers to capture the money not spent on 80" of screens.
