i am shocked by myself.  i have some delightful Megabass fishing rods.  but my all time MVP is a very boring Vanilla spinning rod by Phenix.  the NAXIM MAX-S 72M!

this is actually their lowest end offering.  i have a Phenix (spinning)rod that is higher up the pecking order and i left that one in texas.

the rod is kinda unattractive to me aesthetically.  the camo pattern just isn't "me".  but the action is perfect for my style.  the tip cast well, sensitivety is GREAT.  the bait keeper tab is in the best position.  i use it for dropshot and weightless tex rig senkos.  i have so many bass on this rod. 100's of bass!  it wears a garden variety Daiwa Tatula 2500, and the balance is sick.

well, hard use snapped a guide off, and one is about to come off..and the butt-knob (i almost typed out butt-plug) fell apart.  i found a rod repair guy, and will fix everything.  $45 seemed okay..but that is almost half the cost of the rod itself.  but we dont get to pick the one we love.  hahaha..  i think i bought it on sale for $110.

I'd say go for the repair. No time to end your relationship!  ~roflmao
