Had such a good time in the tournament last Saturday, I had to go thump on them again. Fishing a frog mostly (only thing I got a bite on) I caught 20 before lunch when I let the threat of storms sent me home. Tried a chatterbait and swim jig off and on but no takers.

Keeping a frog in the limbs and shade of deeper cypress trees, you could almost call your shot. If you're signed up to win the boat with the tagged bass, I highly recommend getting out there and whack as many as you can.

Water isn't as clear as I like for a good topwater bite yet, way too much rain, only about 9 inches visibility. The lake is high enough to make it difficult to get even a frog up against the trees due to the limbs. Water temp is 79-81.

Caught four over the 14 - 18 inch slot. Lost a very large one, she sneaked me and I didn't get a good hook set. Most fish were 16-17 inchers good fun.

Nice. My son had their championship for NLJFL out there on the 19th. Him and his fishing partner caught so many slot fish it was unreal, more than I think I've ever caught out there. Couldn't get an over to save our lives, though.

Sounds like the lake has come up quite a bit since then, and maybe cooled off just a tiny bit with the rain.

I hate you missed the big one.
