Conditions:
Water Temps: 87-90!
Outside temps: 90's  ~sweat  ~sweat
Water clarity: Stained
Water level: dropping
Skies: clear
Wind: West 5-8 mph
Fishing Time: 0615-11:30

Fished out of Holiday this morning. The ramp was empty, and the water was hot! Made a long run first thing in the morning. To my surprise, the area was dead. I threw various techniques without sniff! Hmmm? It was too hot to just sit there and wait the bass out, so I picked up and left.

I ran to a stretch that has been productive to me over the last few weeks, and fortunately, this area began to produce some bites! Upon arriving, I caught an energetic 3 lbr. The spook bite was short-lived, so I switched to a fluke. I began to catch a few bass, but many were really small.

Did see several nice bass again, but they were all lethargic. I think this heat has them in a funk, or they are actively feeding at night. But something is off.

By 11:30, I was delirious. The heat and humidity were really affecting me.  ~sweat  ~sweat  The peacock was starting to pop off, but I waved my white flag and called the trip.  :surrender:  :surrender:

Honestly, I don't know how many fish I caught. I didn't use my clicker today. But I know it was less than 25 fish, ;)

Thanks for reading.

I give you a metal for perseverance!  ~bb  An hour from the bank and I am calling it quits!  On the way back to the truck I walked up on a nice size water snake in the grass. :surrender:   Keep it up Lou, you give me hope!

Nice try Lou!! I had same scenario on Monday at Holiday, fished 6:30 to 9:30. Moon was still up and thought that might be it because the Oscars and Mayans weren't even hitting early! Maybe 20 fish between 2 of us, all after 8:30. Mostly P's and maybe 6LM. Couple nice ones. Heat got to us too! Too small for pics!!
Safe Fishing,
Jim

I think it's time to break out the bug tamer jacket and give us a night Everglades report. Hey, that might be a cool video?

Thanks for the report! Some nice catches there.
It's way to hot to go outside. LOL.

Great idea! It's not happening! LOL!  It's too hot and humid at night, plus I will over heat with that bug tamer jacket. I will stick to daytime. :)
