Unfortunately and unaware of the previous days tragedy involving a young little girl over in Chester, PA who accidently fell into the fast moving creek from all of the rain, the Coast Guard Search and Rescue Helo was flying low overhead with Heat Sensing Technology to recover the young lady.  Our thougts and prayers go out to the friends and family.

Welcome to our SJHT 2024 Kick-off Season where anglers not too worried about the weather put it all on the line and ventured out to DoD Lake today.  The weather was a bit blustery but no where near the previous days torrential rain and winds of 30~40mph were measured.

Let's get to it.

Saturday's event was moved to Sunday for safety and to reduce the Suck effect for all.   9 of SJHT finest came out to DoD LAKE to open up the 2024 season and get the Points race started.  Having not seen most memebers in a long time, anglers were eager to get it....and get it on early was the key.

Without further adieu, please give a big congrats to Tri-Fecta winner 1st place, Lunker, and Misc. winner  David *King Kong Has nothing on Me* Snedeker with a Fantastic 3 Bass going 12.67lbs.  David's Lunker went an amazing 4.93lbs.  His Misc. Pickeral went a decent 2.18lbs by itself.  2nd Place was won by the reigning 2023 AOY and Classic Winner Jackson *No Pics needed* Fu with 3 bass going 4.05lbs.  3rd Place was won by  Rob *The Lunker Brides maid* Masterson with 1 Bass going 3.62lbs.

Summary: DoD LAKE once again proved to hold some big'guns for some.
Anglers reported  get bit and losing some nice ones next to the boat.  Whether we fish this place early in the season or later like we normally do, it never fails that someone figures them out.  Once the weather and wind calm down a bit, anglers became more in there elements.  Jiving and weaving.  Dibbing and diving with the flow as the sun got over head.
As seen by Golaith himself, David showed that slow and steady always wins at these events, espcecially when you have the right lure tied on.

Congrats my man!  Way to figure them out.

DoD LAKE was pretty tough for most anglers .  Judging by the Tale of the Tape, there were not many keepers caught.  Some anglers reported early bites.  Some like myself barely got bit at all.  Out of 9 Anglers, there were only 9 Bass caught....giving way to 24.27lbs .  The avg. weight was 2.70lbs. per Bass.

Overall....  2 anglers caught there 3 Bass Limit.   5 out of 9 anglers caught at least 1 Bass.

Congrats to David Snedeker, Jackson  Fu, and Rob Masterson on your perforrmances.

Next up is Davis Mill Pond in 1 week.

Tightlines,
