2023- Most Improved Anglers Bill "The Hammer" Leach; Scott "Mr. Dependable" Schappell; Dennis "Jiggen Den" Tolentino; and Mike Del Monico;

The 2023 SJHT season is officially finished!!!   Coming out and enduring another Tropical Storm on a blustery and sporatic rain showers pretty much defines our 2023 season.

There were periods of brightness.  Periods of Gloom. and then the occasional Tri-Fecta where the stars aligned and anglers got on them.  That right there has pretty defined our 2023 season.[/b]

Once again....my hat goes off to all of the members that came out week in and week out to compete, bust some stones, win a couple of $$$, and just enjoy being out on the water amongst one another.   A Big congrats to Multiple Time Angler of Year winner Mr. Jackson Fu.   Fu has won many times so much that I've lost count.  Probably 6~7 Times without me looking back.
Congrats on another SJHT Iron Man- Jiggen Den with fishing All 17 Tournaments in 2022 and now in 2023.  You are a beast!

See Stats in the Displayed Stat Sheet.

Congrats to SJHT 2023 Rookie Angler of the Year

Pete *Crushing Em* Ingemi.

Congrats to SJHT's Top 6 Anglers:
Jackson Fu, Dennis Tolentino, Bill Leach, Mike Del Monico, Rob Masterson, & Pete Ingemi.

These guys are the epitome of putting in work on the water and excellence in character.....not too mention represent the Best of the Best Year after Year!

Alright....let's get to this weekends 2023 SJHT 2 Day Bass Classic.  Today, 10 out of the 15 Qualifiers descended upon Assunpink Lake where it's a winner Take all event and the coveted 2023 SJHT Custom Bass Classic Championship Belt.

Although there were alot of cookie cutter size Bass caught and culled, there were a total of 7 Bass caught giving way to a total of 19.25lbs. 5 out of 10 anglers caught at least 1 Bass. We had 1 limit caught. Day 1 Lunker went 3.61lbs and was won by 2023 Rookie Member Stephen *Finally* Albrecht.  . The overall avg weight went 2.75lbs.   Anchored by that Lunker Bass, Stephen was in 2nd place heading into Day 2 with 1 Bass weighing 3.61lbs.

ASSUNPINK LAKE Tale of the Tape:

Jackson Fu held a commanding lead with 3 Bass going 9.91lbs. on Day#1:

Dennis *Jiggen Den* Tolentino solo Bass going 1.75bs

David's Solo Keeper: 2.05lbs

Steve Albrecht's Solo Keeper and Day 1 Lunker went 3.61lbs:

So with half of the field with 1 or more Bass, anglers still battled the elements of the wind and the light rain till the very end.

So with the weather forecasted to be a bit better on Sunday, it was questionable who would show up to finish out the Classic with such a lead to make up.  One angler, in the back of his Iron Man mind knew that huge Bass could be caught at Salem Canal and here WE ARE!!!!

"THE GRAND SLAM" is the Title of the Day#2 Event.  Where have I heard this before.  LOL!!!

Rob, Scott, Bill, Mike Del Monico, and Fu...Thanks for holding things down in my absence:  A Big Thank you to those guys helping run the weigh-ins smoothly.....especially in my recent work trips.  Congrats to Dennis *Jiggen Den* Tolentino, Bill Leach, Scott Schappell, and Mike Del Monico on their Most Improved Angler Award, .  A man is never to old to improve themselves.  Congrats Men!!!
