Obviously if there is ice, bass fishing can be a bit challenging,,,  lo  but what's your cut off temp of being too cold for bank fishing?

Eric-Maine

It is all about the wind when it is cold. Wind blowing across 40° water will cut right through you.
Light winds 35°+ and open water I will be out there. I am starting to have a hard time with the last part.

Sorry I missed that it was from the bank.

I haven't bank fished in a lot time but I'd have to agree with Eric.  A strong cold wind is hard to fish in whether you're walking the bank or fishing from a boat.

Of course dressing for the situation helps wearing like a BPS 100mph suit with warm boots & mittens.  Casting the bait would be the trick in the strong cold wind.

A few years ago. The high this day was 31, and there is some ice on the south and west side of this pond. The first bass came from a foot of water right between my feet on a TRD, and the larger came on a 3-1/2" tube on a shaky head in maybe 5' of water. I only had three bites, and after an hour or so I figured that I'd proven my point. Whatever that was...

Too cold? Same as in a boat. When they guides freeze up after the sun gets up, it's too cold for this fat boy.

In a tournament two weeks ago the high was around 42, but it took forever to get there. 19 at takeoff. My guides (and REELS) would freeze up until about 10:30 that morning. That is too cold- my left hand BURNED all morning. In the 60's here this week tho'. Might go fishin' Christmas Eve, Eve.

It's never too cold in my neck of the woods in Florida. Just bundle up and go.

It's kinda like that here in Texas....although there are times when it's just best to stay at home  ;)

In my younger days has long as there wasn't any ice on the ramp we were on the water dress to kill  ~shade
