Outside temps: Mid 70's morning 80's late morning
Wind: NE 8-12
Skies: Mostly clear blue
Current: None
Clarity: Clear
Water level: Up again!
Bass boated 20
Top 5: 6.5lbs All little!



Haven't been out on my big boat for a spell, so I decided to fish the Holey lands. Arrived at 0 dark thirty and launched at zero dark thirty. Wanted to check out a new area, made a 15 min run, and started fishing before the sun rose.

Started with the spook. Nothing was happening for a long while. That moon had me concerned the bite was going to be slow.

About 30 min into the trip, I caught my first bass. Little guy. Shortly after, I caught another one, and then another!!





All little, but hey, they were bass.

Switched to a swimbait and landed a decent one. But that was it. Switched to jerkabait, nothing. Switched to popper, nothing.



Went back to the spook, and the bites continued.





Made a foolish decision to move. I made another long run to another area and just caught one bass.

I knew the bite was bad when a big soft shell turtle, darted from the bank like a big bass, to eat my lure. Lol!! Never experienced that before.

Called the trip a little after 12 pm. The first half of the outing was fun! The second half? Not so much. I should have stayed put. Live and learn.

Thanks bud. Until those water levels drop significantly, fishing is going to be hit or miss.
