If I'm not mistaken Bass Tracker advertises that my 2017 Tracker Pro Team 195 TXW Tournament Edition with a 4 stroke 150 will do 60 MPH. So far after 3 trips to the lake with calm water and an empty boat mine tops out at about 48 MPH. No matter how I trim it that the best it will do. What am I doing wrong?

Lots of factors can come into play.  While it is important to get plenty of seat time to hone your boat driving skills, you also have to consider the original set up.  First of all I would perform a prop to pad measurement just to be sure that your prop is a the correct depth for your boat hull.  Once this has been verified and corrected if needed then you have to determine if your craft has the correct prop for the application.  In addition you need to evaluate how your boat is loaded to achieve the proper balance.  Other questions that may help in the investigation would be what are your RPMs at full throttle and if you have a water pressure gauge what is it reading. 

Your issue could more than likely be prop to pad and is not an uncommon issue with poorly set up boats.

How are your RPMs?

A prop upgrade may be in order. Props are one of the areas that fracker marine is known for saving money to keep the price down. That said a 150 two stroke should run, give or take a pitch or two, a stainless steel 23 pitch prop. I've got zero experience on a 4 stroke, could be the same?

Mount the motor in the 3rd hole down from the top. Then put a SS Tempest prop on it. And depending on the load. You'll see 58-62 out of her.

As Mike and Glenn pointed out, the prop and motor height could be the key. Your WOT RPMs is a good place to start. If you don't already have a stainless prop, you should. This speed calculator is pretty good at guessing what your speed should be. The unknown is the % of slip but 9-10% is considered optimal. http://www.mercuryracing.com/prop-slip-calculator/

Also, where are you located at? Are you at sea level or at elevation?
I know here in Colorado the elevation will keep me well off of advertised top speeds.

I have a 2017 Tracker PT190 with a 115 and I was only getting 44-45 with the black max 23p prop that was on there from the factory, totally the wrong prop because I was only getting 5200rpms out of it full throttle, even with the trim all the way up. I switched to a 19p 4 blade prop and now I get about 50 out of her but with a 150 on the PT195 you should definitely be getting 55ish.

Frankly I would go back to the dealer and have them figure it out if you just bought the boat. you should never accept a product that isn't performing to factory standards. The speed is what BPS said it will do so they should make it do it.

I'm with Oldfart.  Something isn't right in the setup.  The Tournament Edition should already have the stainless steel prop on it.  Mine will do 60 all day.

Take it back to the dealer and let them sort it out.

Also, trim on these light aluminum boats makes a HUGE difference.  Trim my heavy ass Cobalt R7 a bit over or under it doesn't make a big change in the ride.  On my 195TXW just a slight bump, one way or the other on the trim switch, makes a huge difference.  One you can instantly feel in the ride, stance, and speed.  Be careful that you are not over-trimming it.

You are correct! I'll give it a while and let the motor get properly broken in. I realize the trim has a lot to do with it but I've adjust it from one end to the other. So far my boat will only tach about 4800 RPM's wide open. It could be in the throttle cable adjustment.

Have the dealer check it sooner rather than later. It's something they can handle while you wait. If that's not the problem then let them figure out why it won't get full rpms, it's their job and they should be more than happy to check it all out and fix it before you start bad mouthing them and the boat.

I have this exact same issue with my Tracker 195 with a 150 4 stroke.  top speed is 47-48. Any news?

Haven't heard back on the other one but I suggest you take it back to the dealer, don't wait, they should be on top of this.

MY NEW 2022 195 TXW Tournament addition came with a 24P it does 60 MPH at optimum trim. The RPMs are at 5800.
