Side Imaging Only Working on One Side?

I'm running Humminbird stuff (Solix 10's), and my side imaging just quit working on the right side. I get a little bit of image just to the right of the black water column area in the middle of the screen, but most of the right side is completely black. Left side is fine. I thought it might have been prop noise at first, because it started doing it at about the same time I re-propped the boat, but I can trim the prop up out of the water and it still does it.  ::)

Any ideas?

Try 455 kHz and if the image brightens up, you have a weak right side piezo.
Run the unit in simulator to see if the processing for the right side is functioning properly==could be a failing processor.

This happened to me twice on a garmin unit and I got lucky and it turned out to be the transducer both times. Garmin shipped me new ones under warranty.

Thanks guys. Hopefully it's just the transducer. Still expensive, but a lot cheaper than a new Solix.

And now that I think about it, I do remember that the unit that transducer is linked to was left on overnight one time. I had forgotten about it until now.

My wife thought she was turning it off for me when we were leaving the lake, but I had already turned it off, so she accidentally turned it back on and put the cover on it. I didn't realize it until the next day, and I'm sure the transducer was running out of the water the whole time. I bet that piezo is toast. If so, the others in there are probably not long for this world either.

I'll check that unit in demo mode like you mentioned, Wayne.

Running for a day out of the water might cause some damage. I likely damaged mine on stumps, but because there was no visible damage Garmin just replaced them. Love their Customer Service.

I know they say that we don't have to stop our transducers when running from spot to spot now a days. That said, when it's above 100 degrees around here (pretty much all summer) my units shut down the transducers for overheating. As soon as I put it back in the water it starts back up.

Wayne is the Humminbird specialist and I've never seen him be wrong on here.

Fingers crossed for ya.

I still haven't gotten around to trying it in demo mode yet. Hopefully this weekend. Apparently you have to delete all waypoints and tracks in order to do that, so I need to go buy some microSD cards to back everything up. Probably something I need to do anyway.

On a side note, I wish Humminbird would make some desktop software where you could edit/delete waypoints on the computer. Really a pain to do it on the fish finder.

Turn Demonstration OFF. Run the unit in SIMULATOR. The Demonstration feature is for a display setup for sale--self advertising.

Gotcha. Thanks Wayne. I'll do that this weekend.
