Thanks Lou for the vid, I loved it.    I have been doing this very thing for years.  The big difference is I use 15 to 20 pound floro because of its sinking ability especially at the outside edge of the weed line.  I also often use a 1/32 bullet weight to help protect the plastic when going through the weeds.  It does reduce the pulling down of the plastic on the hook shaft.  Great vid, and keep them coming!
