Fished the UB Singles tournament. The weather was over cast pretty much all day. Right around 70 to start and warmed to mid 80's with a 10 mph north wind.

I started off very slow fishing main lake bream beds and only had one bite. A solid three pounder jumped off a prop bait. Gave up on the main lake and went to the west end woods. Didn't take long and I put a keeper in the boat on a frog. About 90 minutes later I had a 5 pounder, a 4 pounder and filled out my limit giving me 17 pounds. One of my limit fish is only 1.5 pounds and I fight the rest of the day to cull it, only had one more bite and it was a solid fish but it pulled off, I had a very poor hook set.

I ended up weighing 17.35 and coming in 4th, good for a nice check. First only had 18.32, had I caught either of those two fish I lost I would have had a big enough cull to win.... That's fishing though. I can't complain with a great day on the lake.

Congrats on cashing a check.

That's a really small margin between 1st and 4th places. I'd rather miss it by a whole lot but as you said, that's fishing.

That's a good bag! Cross is a tough lake for me. Good work on finishing well into the money. Razor thin margins between places on that one.
